Who Needs a Man


The first girl zucchini flower that opened and closed before any of the guys doesn't seem bothered by the apparent lack of pollination. The zucchini has continued to grow. I don't know if it got pollinated by a bee that had visited someone else's garden or if it just doesn't know any better.

First Girl Zucchini Bud


Sure enough, the girl zucchini buds do look different from the boy buds. I was getting worried I didn't see any, but one little lady has decided to brave it with the fellas.

The zucchini plants have little buds on them. There are more tiny tomatoes appearing too.

Flowers on the Tomatoes



Tomatoes are doing well and have developed flowers. I think due to the repotting, they started to lean a bit so we fashioned supports by bending metal hangers. The beans and the zucchini are also doing well.
